now, unless you are living in a shell somewhere you are aware
of the benefits of clean, organic, natural food. It's good
for our growth, brain function, energy, health, longevity, strength,
equilibrium, youthfulness; the list goes on and on.
Balance
is key, do the best you can. Pick and buy the freshest foods you can
afford. Take advantage of Farmers Markets, road-side stands and food
in season. Foods in season are what your body needs at that particular
time of year. Don’t question Mother Nature.
Beware of Irradiated fruits
and vegetables, irradiation benefits the packer and grocer
(shelf life), not the farmer or consumer. The consumer receives an
inferior product that appears fresh, but has depleted vitamins and
enzymes. It has more or less become a dead food not
worth eating. This is one of the reasons we choose
organic.

Tips for making your food safer for
consumption: Soaking your produce in a half cup of baking soda
to a sink full of water for 20 minutes can help reverse the effects
of irradiation. Soaking
your produce in a half vinegar/half water bath 20 minutes can remove
pesticides and the effects of dirty handling & shipping procedures.(Delicate
foods, such as berries or lettuces, etc. need much less soaking time,
you be the judge)
Easy on the caffeine, sugars, alcohol,
and bad fats. You can live without these.
Avoid Processed Food:Sodium
Nitrite makes meat look red rather than gray, and gives
meat an overly long shelf life of months; clinically proven to cause
leukemia, brain tumors and other forms of cancer. Sulfites can
cause reactions in asthmatics, and lead to death. Sulfites are now
banned on all foods except raw potatoes, wine and dried fruit. Monosodium
Glutamate/MSG is an excitotoxin, which causes nerve damage
and allergic reactions. Found in hundreds of foods. Aspartame agenetically
modified, synthetic sugar substitute; people report dizziness, headaches,
diarrhea, and even seizures. Scientists believe it can alter behavior
due to altered brain function. Long term effects of this genetically
modified organism on human health has not been studied or tested.
Found as a sweetener in foods and some body products, such as shaving
gel.
Water,
clean and filtered is necessary for drinking purposes.
Maintain
a healthy weight and exercise to be fit. Walking is excellent.
